Privacy Policy Statement

We undertake to observe the spirit of the data protection principles and are committed to meet internationally-recognized standards of personal data privacy protection, in compliance with the requirements of the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance. In doing so, it will be ensured that our staff comply with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality. The Code of Practice issued by City University of Hong Kong provides guidance to our staff on the collection, processing and use of personal data about individuals, including staff and students. When we collect personal data from you, the purpose(s) of data collected will be given. Personal data collected from you will be kept confidential, but they may be provided to appropriate personnel of the University and other parties providing services to the University. Personal Data Collection Statement

  1. Personal data provided on the application/enrolment form will be used by SCOPE for purposes relating to enrolment and application process.

  2. Applicants are advised to provide all the information requested in the application documents where applicable, as otherwise, SCOPE may be unable to process and consider their applications/enrolments.

  3. When the processing and consideration of all the application/enrolment forms have been completed;
    1. the application/enrolment forms of unsuccessful candidates will be destroyed; and
    2. the application/enrolment forms of successful candidates will become part of the participant record system, in which connection, the data will thereafter be handled by SCOPE staff for the purpose relating to education and training administration such as registration and monitoring of participants, accounting for fees, communication with participants, University promotional/public relation activities, etc.

  4. In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you have the right of access to, and correction of, your personal data, and the right to request for a copy of such data. If you wish to obtain such information, please submit your request to by e-mail to cedpo@scope.edu or by fax at 3442 0399. The following fee may be charged for each request:
    • Initial Search Fee (non-refundable): HK$150
    • Photocopying Fee (per page): HK$5
