Introduction

The University of Wolverhampton (UoW), through the School of Continuing and Professional Education (SCOPE), City University of Hong Kong (CityU), is offering a 2-year, part-time programme leading to BA (Hons) Business Management*. All the teaching will be delivered in Hong Kong by UK academic staff of the University of Wolverhampton Business School (UWBS) in block delivery mode, students work on one module only at a time.

The UoW is one of the largest universities in the UK with over 22,000 students and 2,500 staff, and the UWBS is one of the largest schools within the UoW. There are over 60 academic staff and 30 administrators at UWBS. It has over three decades of experience in management education, delivering at undergraduate, postgraduate and professional levels to over 3,000 students a year. UWBS is actively involved in research and has a dedicated Management Research Centre, one of the aims of which is to raise the profile of Asian-pacific issues locally, nationally and internationally. It also puts its strong focus on the employability of students through vocationally relevant teaching and curriculum. According to the Sunday Times University Guide 2007, the degree courses at UWBS were rated excellent compared with its counterparts in England and Northern Ireland.

* The award has been offered in Hong Kong for a number of years under the title BA (Hons) Business Administration which has now been changed to better reflect the nature and content of the programme.
