Business and Its Environment
Provides students with a basic understanding of the business environment, the nature and structure of modern business organisation, and various business functions. An overview of the local environment for business and the ways to manage it will be introduced.
Business Law
Provides students with a basic understanding of the legal system and particularly the law related to business in Hong Kong.
Business Statistics
Introduces to students the basic concepts and applications of statistics used in business, with an emphasis on interpretation of output rather than on statistical methods and calculations.
Critical English Communication Skills
Develops students' critical thinking ability through reading, writing and discussing current local and international issues in English. Through the interactive process, students will learn to express themselves and communicate effectively with others.
Economics for Business
Equips students with knowledge of microeconomics and macroeconomics so that they can apply those theories in analysing the behavior of consumers, business strategies and the implications of government policies on the economy.
English Academic Skills
Develops students' communicative competence through an integrated approach. All the four English skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, will be introduced and both the accuracy and fluency in using English as a second language will be emphasised.
Information Technology for Business
Equips students with basic skills and knowledge in applying information technology to business operations.
International Business
Provides students with an understanding of the growth of international business and the impacts of globalisation. The course also aims to equip students with skills and knowledge in managing international business.
Introduction to Business Organizations
Provides students an understanding of the concepts in organisational structure and the various functions in business organisations including human resources, marketing, production and finance.
Introduction to Marketing
Provides a foundation for students in the marketing discipline. It introduces students to the basic concepts of marketing and helps them understand the role and functions of marketing in modern business organisations.
Personal Learning Portfolio
Develops students' aptitude, competence and study skills for effective life-long learning and career development.
Principles of Accounting
Provides students with a basic understanding of the accounting system, basic accounting principles and accounting statements and enables them to compile and analyse statements.
Principles of Management
Provides students with a thorough understanding of the key functions of management in modern business organisations including planning, decision making, organising, leading, communicating and controlling.
