1.

What are the minimum entrance requirement of the programme?

The minimum requirements are:

  • Holders of Associate Degree or Higher Diploma (or equivalent level) in tourism, airline operations / management or related disciplines; OR
  • Holders of Associate Degree or Higher Diploma in business with relevant work experience

AND satisfied the following English requirements:

  • Associate Degree or Higher Diploma or equivalent with duration of at least 2 years delivered in English will be exempted from English proficiency test; OR
  • IELTS Academic – score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any component; OR
  • English proficiency test results of equivalent standard

How long do students need to complete the programme?
Students are required to complete 11 modules (240 credits) over 4 trimesters in 16 months.

Is this programme recognized by the Hong Kong Government?

The programme is:

  • accredited by the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ) to reach HKQF Level 5;
  • equivalent to the standing of bachelor’s degrees offered by local universities in Hong Kong; and
  • recognised by the Hong Kong Government for employment purposes within the Civil Service.

Students studying full-time mode may apply for government scholarship, grant and loans.

Are the teachings conducted by local or overseas academics?
The programme offers a variety of teaching methods including lectures, tutorials, consultations, workshops, projects and group exercises. Classes will be taught by experienced professors from Edinburgh Napier University and local teaching staff with industrial experience using study materials in Asian contexts.

 
5.

How will be the modules assessed?
Usually, each module has two assessment components – a piece of coursework and a final examination. For module(s) without examination, there will be two pieces of coursework.

Where will the classes be arranged?
Classes will be held at designated CItyU SCOPE Learning Centres.
