Sharing
I have acquired a more analytical and critical perspective on my research skills, and also learnt to take time to think and let ideas develop and settle before writing. I could refer to this study as the foundation for organising training content for in/pre-service teachers. Most importantly, not only did I learn research skills and widen my horizon in academics, but also how to care my students.
I dedicate this work to my lovely wife, Karen and my supervisor, Dr. Jo Rose, for their care, love and guidance, and my adorable daughter, Eme. who is always my drive and spirit.

Self Introduction
As an experienced educator both in Hong Kong and China, I am blessed to have served in this field in varied capacities encompassing Native English Teacher, Department Head, Senior Teacher, and Principal. These numerous roles and experiences have deepened my understanding of the critically important role that each of us plays in enhancing students’ educational experience and holistic development, promoting their character building, and elevating their academic and extra-curricular achievements.
Of equal importance is our lifelong learning, which illuminates on conceptual understanding, promotes professional sharing and networking, and facilitates critical reflection on our day-to-day practices. My completion of the Doctor of Education Programme with the University of Bristol has been a gratifying experience. I am immensely grateful for the meticulously prepared learning materials, inspiring lectures, and personalized learning experiences. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my dissertation supervisor, Dr. Sue Timmis, who has provided detailed guidance during the fruitful, albeit painful at times, intellectual journey

Self Introduction
Wan Lap Man is a social worker specialized in youth delinquency. He leads four teams of social worker serving hundreds of youth from daytime to midnight, from the street corner to cyberworld.
As a social worker serving youth-at-risk in Hong Kong, the Bristol EdD was for me a very rich and exciting learning experience. One of the best things about the EdD is the flexibility that it offers in terms of choosing the location of study and research topics. The EdD modules in UK and Hong Kong are both open for student. Moreover, this is a very well-rounded program, combining high-quality education and research training. Supervisors are open and allow to apply both qualitative and quantitative research method. The supports from Bristol Centre for Multilevel Modelling and research community provided supra and state-of-art tools in the advanced statistic. This course has given me invaluable experience in the social study. To summarise, the six years EdD training has been absolutely a fascinating academic journey for me!
