Future Intelligence Workshop under FIRST- "Speak Yourself, Make it Professional & Impressive" and "Impressive Presentation in front of the Camera"

Two workshops titled "Speak Yourself, make it Professional & Impressive" and "Impressive Presentation in front of the Camera" were successfully held on 18 and 25 March 2023 -an award-winning and reputable public speaker trainer, Mr. Calvin LAM, was invited to host the workshops. Calvin has accumulated 1900+ shows EMCEE experiences and worked as a radio, television, and new-media programs host in previous years.

Throughout the workshop, Calvin illustrated different general speaking techniques, such as posture, pace and pronunciation, to our students based on theory and his experience, allowing them to be more confident and persuasive when expressing their thoughts to others and presenting themselves in front of the camera.

By taking the workshops, it is believed that the participants will become more equipped and confident in expressing themselves in daily conversation or public speaking.

I wanted to express my gratitude to SDU for the recent workshop on communication skills. Thank you for providing us with the opportunity to learn about effective workplace communication, including communication etiquette, writing content of communication skills and other valuable knowledge.

The workshop has greatly and positively extended my understanding of making use of camera. I appreciate the group activity at the end of the workshop very much that motivates us to practise the techniques in a fun and creative way. I would like to thank SDU of CityU SCOPE, where I am studying, for inviting Mr. Calvin Lam to be the workshop tutor. Mr. Lam, being a seasoned KOL and professional MC for many events, has taught us a lot in facial expressions, hand gestures, vocal volume, and pace in effective and engaging communication. Furthermore, the creation of content structure was also crucial. The more you know what is going on to be presented, the more confident you will become. Moreover, storytelling was described as a magical tool too and I think I would definitely employ it in my life.
