"The EdD programme, under the guidance of the Bristol professors, provided golden opportunities for learning, thinking, reflecting, and judging around the area of education. It was not only rich in content, but inspiring and envisioning. I found it fun and fulfilling throughout the whole learning process: the formal curriculum, reading, intellectual debates, tackling questions arising from the study, completing assignments and sharing with one another experiences and views on various education issues. It was painstaking though, sacrificing all my vacation & family times and social activities on the programme during those four years, and finally struggling with the dissertation and facing the examiners at the viva. But my supervisor, classmates, colleagues and family members never failed to support and motivate me to complete the programme in 2001. Looking back, those days with many sleepless nights and weekends loaded with assignments were good investment in exchange for an in-depth learning in education!
The EdD programme has strengthened my devotion to serve in tertiary education. Right now, I am focussing on designing student development programmes that would complement the classroom learning, with the ultimate aim of developing all-round students for their future chanllenges."
